Wheatland Board of Trustees Votes to Remove Fee

It's official! Effective July 30th, Wheatland Electric will no longer be charging a convenience fee for using a credit card to pay your bill.

Be aware scammers are everywhere!

This morning we received a call from one of our members regarding a suspicious phone call they received. The caller stated the member was overdue on two accounts and demanded payment over the phone.

Wheatland Board to Discuss Removal of Fee

Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Wheatland) periodically reviews its Rules and Regulations in effort to stay current on industry standards. The Rules and Regulations set forth the guidelines of membership for the cooperative. One of the items in the current Rules and Regulations is a Convenience Fee. At present, the $3.95 Convenience Fee is charged to members who pay their electric bills with credit cards.

Wheatland Electric Cooperative members approve self-regulation

SCOTT CITY, KAN. (May 30, 2014) – The membership of Wheatland Electric Cooperative voted overwhelmingly last week in favor of self-regulation.

Recently, a member of Wheatland Electric was the victim of a scam attempt.  Our member received a phone call on a Saturday morning, demanding payment on a past due bill.
