Cold Weather Accommodation for Residential Members

As of March 1, 2016 Wheatland has adopted the following Cold Weather Accommodation policy for residential members (revised 05-01-2021). 

All delinquent accounts are subject to disconnection when temperatures exceed 35 degrees for a 48 hour period during the cold weather period unless a member requests a cold weather accommodation.

In order for a member to retain electric service when temps are above 35 degrees during the cold weather period (Nov. 15-Mar. 15), they must comply with the following cold weather accommodation provisions:

  1. Inform Wheatland of their inability to pay their account in full.

  2. Complete and sign a Cold Weather Accommodation Agreement.

  3. Pay any outstanding billed deposit in full.

  4. Pay 1/2 of each current bill during the cold weather period.

  5. Past due balances including the bill due November 5th must be paid in full at the inception of the cold weather period.

  6. Apply for federal, state or local funds for which the member may be eligible for.

  7. Agree to make an arrearage payment plan or sign up for Wheatland Prepay Power Program at the conclusion of the cold weather period.

Members who do not adhere to the Cold Weather Accommodation rules are not eligible for payment arrangements at the conclusion of the cold weather period.  Their entire outstanding balance, applicable fees and additional deposit, if applicable, are due and payable prior to reconnection if service is disconnected.

Acuerdo De Alojamiento Para Clima Fria

Todas las cuentas morosas están sujetas a desconexión cuando las temperaturas superan los 35 grados durante un periodo de 48 horas durante el invierno, a menos que un miembro solicite un alojamiento en clima frio.

Para que un Miembro pueda conservar el servicio eléctrico cuando las temperaturas superan los 35 grados durante el periodo de clima frio (del 15 de Noviembre - 15 de Marzo), debe cumplir sin la siguiente disposición de alojamiento en clima frio:

  1. Informar a Wheatland de su incapacidad para pagar su cuenta en su totalidad.

  2. Completar y firmar un acuerdo de Alojamiento en Clima Frio.

  3. Pagar cualquier deposito facturado pendiente en su totalidad.

  4. Pagar la mitad de cada factura actual durante el periodo de clima frio.

  5. Los saldos vencidos incluida la factura que vence el 5 de Noviembre, deben pagarse en su totalidad al inicio del periodo de clima frio.

  6. Solicitar fondos federales, estado o locales para los cuales el miembro puede ser elegible.

  7. Acuerde hacer un plan de pago atrasado o inscribirse en el programa de energía prepagado de Wheatland al finalizar el periodo de clima frio.

Los miembros que no se adhieran a las reglas de Alojamiento en Clima Frio no son eligibles para arreglos de pago al finalizar el periodo de clima frio. Todo el saldo pendiente, las tarifas aplicables y el depósito adicional, si corresponde, vencen y se pagan antes de la reconexión si se desconecta el servicio.
