Argonia, KS – Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. announced today that its Sharing Success Fund, managed by the Scott Community Foundation, has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Argonia Chamber and Pride Organization.
The funds will be used toward reinvigorating the community and promoting events and small business shopping during holidays. “We have a group of citizens that are willing to join our team to get the organization off of the ground and promote Argonia and its businesses,” said the new organization’s president, Tara Pierce who applied for the grant on behalf of the group. The group also plans to enhance the community by working toward beautifying downtown. “We want to bring back our once vibrant hometown and build a safe and hospitable community with events that engage our citizens and bring in visitors to enjoy all our community has to offer.”
