TRIBUNE – Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. announced today that its Sharing Success Fund, managed by the Scott Community Foundation, has awarded a $1,000 grant for the Melvin O. Kuder Senior Center in Tribune, Kansas.
The Senior Center will use the funds to purchase an additional piece of exercise equipment to join the fitness area in the city park, says Senior Center Director Chelsey Cavenee. With the outdoor fitness area, the Senior Center continues to benefit the community as a whole by providing free access to fitness equipment regardless of status, income, or insurance. The Melvin O. Kuder Senior Center exists to improve the lives of mature adults through education, exercise, and social interaction.
The Scott Community Foundation began formally accepting applications for grants from the Wheatland Electric Sharing Success Fund from non-profit organizations on December 1, 2012. Wheatland Electric and CoBank have each contributed $10,000 this year to the fund. The program will continue to run until the funds are exhausted.
