ANTHONY, KS–Wheatland Electric Cooperative, Inc. announced today that its Sharing Success Fund, managed by the Scott Community Foundation, has awarded a $1,000 grant to Patterson Health Center in Anthony, Kansas.

Patterson Health Center will use the funds to enhance wellness programs for the community, including sets of aquatic dumbbells and yoga mats, says Loretta Kerschen, grants and preparedness coordinator for Patterson Health Center. Aside from at the health center directly, these preventative programs are offered at two additional wellness centers in Anthony and Harper. Kerschen describes how yoga and aquatic exercise not only help reduce stress and anxiety, but assist those with arthritis and pain in knees, back and joints, making preventative healthcare more accessible.
